Getting to know the cohort.

November 2025.

It has been an interesting few months as we start to know our lecturers, classmates, building design and the mediocre food in the canteen.

At this point, life as a ‘student paramedic’ feels lack luster, with lots of discussion throughout the class about what are expectations of being a student will include whilst on the road.

My first placement was allocated in a ‘country station’, which meant that it was not directly in a city and some distance was required to transport patients.

I had absolutely no idea what to expect on this placement, but a conversation with my mentor over the phone covered a few questions that I had, such as shift times, parking, do’s and don’ts, etc.
